Beverage World adopts the homeless hostel “Estia ton Athinon”

As part of our Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility, Beverage World made an important donation to the Municipality of Athens, supporting the most vulnerable group of the population, the elderly homeless. Contributing to the program “Adopt your city”, Beverage World has agreed to ‘Adopt’ the hostel “Estia ton Athinon” (Home of Athens) , which hosts and cares for 52 homeless elderly people on a daily basis.

With the ’adoption’ of the homeless hostel, Beverage World’s donation contributed heavily to its complete infrastructure upgrade and the supply of important equipment to be used for the daily care and satisfaction of basic needs of our fellow human beings.

To this end, Beverage World’s delegation team consisting of our Group Managing Director Mr. Pavlos Photiades, the General Manager Mr. George Makrigiannakis and the Marketing and Trade Marketing Manager Mr. Stefanos Loizos visited the Mayor of Athens, Mr. Kostas Bakogiannis, to discuss the details of the adoption and the benefits of this charitable cooperation.

Mr. Photiades thanked the Mayor and stated: “The pandemic and economic crisis we currently face has accentuated the need to support and care of our most vulnerable fellow human beings. Relying on our timeless humanitarian values in these difficult times, we stand by the vulnerable social groups and we strongly support the remarkable work of Athens Municipality in protecting and upgrading the health conditions and standard of living of these groups”.

In his statement, the Mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, said: “‘Adopt Your City’ program continues to prove that it can set the basis for a positive change in Athens and all the things we can achieve through cooperation, synergies and solidarity. From the first moment of its implementation, this program was embraced by organizations, associations and companies with a high sense of social responsibility. On this note, I want to thank Mr Photiades, Beverage World and the Photos Photiades Group for joining the program and undertaking an important part of supporting the needs of our citizens. It is another collaboration towards a mutual goal. To make Athens a human city “.

This initiative of Beverage World is the beginning of a symbolic, but also a practical act of altruism. It’s proving the importance of our Group values and the relationships that keep us emotionally alive in times where offering and love for fellow human beings becomes the means to get us through to the next day towards a better future.
